Removals porters qualify as LGV

Removals operatives Steve Parnell and Mark Sutton have
passed their Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) test to drive Maidman's
Removals' 19 tonne lorries.
Steve and Mark, both from
Southbourne, were packer-porters at Maidman's and could
previously only drive the Bournemouth Airport-based firm's 7.5
tonne removals lorry.
During home moves, each driver acts as
project manager and is responsible for ensuring a smooth move and
completing all paperwork - but they still assist with packing and
moving belongings.
Brian Maidman said: "Steve and Mark have
been with us a while; they are already trained to handle inland
and export work and accredited by The Movers' Institute. We have
a policy of growing and developing our staff - this is another
rung in the ladder for them and helps improve their current job
and future career prospects."
Maidman's has one of the
highest percentages of fully-trained removals operatives in the
UK - 100 per cent of its staff are provided
with industry-standard training, compared to the recommended
minimum standard of 50 per
cent.
